Bella cagata, quella di Young. Pavanello ricorrerà o si becca la squalifica
senza fiatare?

Oggetto: [RUGBYLIST] squalifiche

Pavanello, che si dichiara colpevole di aver calpestato l'avversario, si
becca due settimane, senza nessuno sconto, essendo il fallo considerato di
livello leggero dalla commissione;

PAVANELLO DECISION

The Benetton Treviso player, Antonio Pavanello (No 4), has been suspended
for two (2) weeks following a Disciplinary Hearing today, Friday, 27 January
2012, as a result of the citing complaint made against him arising from the
Heineken Cup Round 6 match against Saracens on Sunday, 22 January 2012.

The complaint was made by Citing Commissioner, John Cole (Ireland), for an
alleged stamp on the Saracens forward, Jackson Wray (No 8), in contravention
of Law 10.4(b) during the first half of the match at Stadio Comunale Monigo.

The independent Judicial Officer, Pat Barriscale (Ireland), heard evidence
and submissions from Pavanello, who pleaded guilty to the offence, from
Benetton Treviso Chief Executive, Vittorio Munari, and from ERC Disciplinary
Officer, Roger O’Connor.

Employing the IRB recommended sanctions for Law 10.4(b), the Judicial
Officer decided that the offence was at the low-end entry point of two (2)
weeks, and he imposed a suspension of two (2) weeks.

Pavanello will be free to play on Monday, 6 February. Both the player and
ERC have the right to appeal the decision.

Law 10.4(b) A player must not stamp or trample on an opponent

Under the IRB Recommended Sanctions for Offences Committed within the
Playing Enclosure, Law 10.4(b) carries the following penalties: Low End: 2
weeks; Mid Range: 5 weeks; Top End: 9+ to 52 weeks.

inglesi, "so ragazzi"...

The Leicester Tigers player, Micky Young (No 9), has been suspended for
eight (8) weeks following a Disciplinary Hearing in Dublin today, Friday, 27
January 2012, as a result of the citing complaint made against him arising
from the Heineken Cup Round 6 match against Aironi Rugby on Saturday, 21
January 2012.

Young was alleged to have made contact with the eyes or the eye area of the
Aironi Rugby wing, Giulio Toniolatti (No 14), in contravention of Law
10.4(m) during the first half of the match at Welford Road. The complaint
was made by Citing Commissioner, John Kirk (Scotland).

The independent Judicial Officer, Pat Barriscale (Ireland), heard evidence
and submissions from Young, who pleaded not guilty to the complaint, and
from Young’s legal representative, Ray Tully. In addition, the Judicial
Officer heard evidence and submissions from Leicester Tigers Executive
Director, Peter Wheeler, and ERC Disciplinary Officer, Roger O’Connor.
Leicester Tigers Chief Executive, Simon Cohen, was also present at the
hearing.

The Judicial Officer upheld the citing complaint, concluding that Young had
committed an act which was reckless rather than deliberate. Employing the
IRB recommended sanctions for Law 10.4(m), he decided that the offence was
at the low-end entry point of twelve (12) weeks, and having taken into
account the player’s excellent record and exemplary conduct during the
hearing, he granted the player mitigation of four (4) weeks, and imposed a
suspension of eight (8) weeks.

Young will be free to play on Monday, 19 March. Both the player and ERC have
the right to appeal the decision.
